HSDC offers trauma-informed programs and support for marginalized individuals to address crime, violence, and victimization within Scarborough and the GTA. We are committed to increasing awareness, fostering resilience, and strengthening the networks that protect racialized and marginalized individuals and families. 

Scarborough United Against Human Trafficking Project (SUAH)

The Scarborough United Against Human Trafficking Project (SUAH) is a vital initiative committed to preventing and addressing cybercrime and human trafficking incidents across the GTA.

Hate Crime Prevention Project

The workshops aim to enhance knowledge and skills in recognizing, addressing, and combating hate crimes. The workshops foster learning, networking, and sharing, and were greatly enriched by guest speakers from diverse community organizations who shared valuable insights and experiences.

Building an Anti-Violence Environment Project (BRAVE)

HSDC provided trauma-informed preventative and intervention support to high-risk Black and racialized youth in Scarborough who are currently involved with the criminal justice system and gangs by tackling their root causes and offering pathways to safer, more fulfilling futures

Victims Week Program

In observance of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week, HSDC hosts free week-long community workshops and activities that bring together survivors, service providers, and community partners in Scarborough to address violence, crime and the need for increased victim support.
