Web Development Training

Heritage Skills Development Centre ( HSDC) is pleased to present a  Web Development and Programming Training program for youth that aims to provide fundamental skills in web development and programming. The Program is FREE and open to  Black youth ages 18 to 29 years. The program is designed to help build career pathways for marginalized Black youth in the field of technology allowing them to transition and succeed in the Canadian labour market.

At the end of the 10-week training, youth participants will have strengthened skills to meet rising business demands in this field. Participants will be trained on: 

  • Building websites in HTML & CSS
  • Word Press, Programming in JavaScript
  • Using web technologies, backend and frontend
  • Website maintenance, building APIs, testing code
  • Debugging and following coding practices
  • Basic digital applications
  • How to earn money as a developer/ designer and much more

Classes will take place every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM starting January 23, 2023 on Zoom. The program also includes life skills, employment training and job opportunities.
