Heritage Skills Development Centre (HSDC) and the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities invite you to join us for a special event; We’re Better Together: A Black History Month Celebration on Friday February 24th, 2023, from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The celebration will take place at The Mid-Scarborough Hub, located at 2660 Eglinton Avenue East, inside of room M03/M04.

This event will showcase and celebrate Black History through cultural and artistic presentations, including live musical performances from local artists, as well as poetry readings, drumming & dancing. There will also be interactive activities, alongside inspiring talks from our guest speakers and local community leaders.

This gathering aims to foster cultural pride, and provide a space to celebrate Black history and Black art with the rest of our local community. This is a great opportunity to learn about Black history and culture; we have an exciting evening for your friends, and family.

The event is FREE for all to attend. Food and refreshments will also be served. There will also be raffle draw prizes with great giveaways.

The event is funded by the Government of Canada. This event will showcase and celebrate Black History through cultural and artistic presentations, live musical performances from local artists, poetry, drum & dance, games, interactive activities, guest speakers, community leaders and much more. The event aims to foster pride, celebrate black history and achievements with community members and beyond. This is a great opportunity to network, learn about black history, culture, share with others as we join hands to strengthen and enrich our communities. We have lots of exciting activities planned for you, your friends and family. The event is FREE and Refreshments will also be served.

Inside the community room Join us for a showcase and celebration of Victims Week through knowledge and resource exchange, community workshops, discussion on victim issues & support for family members, celebration of victim survivors, guest speakers, music & poetry and Much More. The event aims to raise the awareness of the issues faced by victims of crimes through exchange and sharing. This is a great opportunity to network and share as we join hands to strengthen and deepen community victim empowerment. The event is FREE and refreshments will also be served. We look forward to seeing you along with your friends and family.
